Eden's Forest is based between Huddersfield and Wakefield in West Yorkshire. We aim to build self esteem and self confidence through nurturing relationships with the natural environment.
Welcome to Eden's Forest
"Outdoor Learning Matters"
Eden's Forest is an outdoor education provider in West Yorkshire. We develop and deliver all aspects of the curriculum in the outdoors at our beautiful woodland site and in school grounds (KS1-3). We offer a range of services and opportunities designed to share our passion for the natural environment and to nurture it in children and adults.
Through engaging with the outdoors, children can develop independent learning skills, their self esteem, confidence and resilience – attributes they can take through their education and on into adult life. Adults have the opportunity to reconnect with themselves and others through learning new skills and a better understanding of the environment around them.
If you go down to the woods today... what will you discover?

Stanley St Peters - Outdoor Learning Development
At Stanley St Peters in Wakefield we are just embarking on our latest Outdoor Learning Development.
We are very excited that we've been chosen for this development and have worked closely with the school to create a scheme that will compliment the existing outdoor area whilst enabling the school to fully develop its potential.
The development will include a new pond with a solar powered stream, willow fencing and archways, raised beds with fruit trees and soft fruit, seating areas for relaxing and learning. Subject to funding we also plan to build a roundwood outdoor classroom / sports pavillion. We will be working with the children and staff to improve the environmental value and learning potential of the outdoor area over the next year.
Take a look at our facebook page for the latest pictures of what we've been up to:
Bardsey Primary School - Outdoor Learning Development
We have been having a wonderful time at Bardsey Primary School over the past few months. We've worked with every year group from Reception to Year 6, delivered assemblies, met parents, staff and governors... and built an amazing class-sized replica Iron Age roundhouse!
The roundhouse forms the centre-piece of what will be (subject to planning permission) an outdoor learning area to rival all others! The concept is 'A Journey Through Time' with the area taking the form of a collection of historical structures: An Iron Age roundhouse, an Anderson Shelter set in a home front garden, nomadic Stone Age shelters and a Saxon dwelling.
The area is intended to facilitate whole class and small group work across the year groups and the whole curriculum.
The following link will take you to our facebook page which uses photos to profile the development. If you think your school might be interested in something similar, please get in touch.
