Transition from primary or middle school to high school can be a difficult time for many children. These difficulties stem from a range of issues linked to their previous experiences at primary school, their expectations of high school, their social or cultural backgrounds and their ability to settle into a new, and much larger peer group.
The myriad of benefits for children discussed throughout our website have at the heart of them, self confidence and self esteem. We feel these two areas are fundamental to successful transition into high school.
At Eden's Forest transition groups can come to neutral territory. The children can learn to work collaboratively with their new peers and support each other. They have the opportunity to truly feel, "If I can do that, then I can do anything!"
Working outdoors with such groups builds trust, self confidence, peer bonding and ultimately self esteem within this new context.
We can provide a range of options to support transition groups, or other vulnerable groups in KS3. Some of these are below, however if you have ideas of other ways we can support your children, please contact us to discuss what we can do to help.
